Training Coordinator, Steve Finley, P.O. Box 179, Mineola, TX 75773. Mineola Fire Department was established in 1907. Today we are a combination department with 4 paid personnel and 25 volunteers. Mineola Fire Department strives to educate and train our firefighters to the highest level possible. Mineola Fire Department has regular training drills held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Mineola Fire Department is a member of Texas Commission on Fire Protection, State Firemens and Fire Marshals Association of Texas, National Fire Protection Association, Texas Department of Health, Northeast Texas Firemens Association, Wood County Fire Chief's Association and other state and national associations. Mineola Fire Department has seven firefighters certified through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. Mineola Fire Department Firefighters are certifed through the Texas Firemen's and Fire Marshal's Association of Texas as follows: 1 Master Firefighter, 7 Advanced Firefighters, 6 Intermediate Firefighters, 6 Basic Firefighters, 3 Introductory Firefighters and 2 probationary firefighters. Mineola Fire Department has 7 Hazardous Material Technitions, 9 Underwater Rescue and Recovery SCUBA Divers, 7 certifiable wildland firefighters, 3 Fire Investigators, 2 arson investigators and 1 Fire Inspector. Mineola has firefighters that are trained in High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Agriculture Rescue, Urban Search and Rescue, Wildland Search and Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Passenger and Freight Train Rescue, Mass Casualty Events, Critical Incident Stress De-breifing, Incident Safety Officer and all firefighters are trained and operate under the Incident Command System. Mineola Fire Department is a registered First Reponder Agency with the Texas Department of Health and have certified E.M.S. personnel as follows: 1 EMT-P, 7 EMT-B, and 4 ECA . Mineola Fire Department has 3 Level II Instructors certified to instruct training under the State Firemens and Fire Marshals Association of Texas Training Program who teach at ESTI, TEEX, Texas A&M, other area schools and within the department and 4 other Level II Instructors who teach at area schools and within the department and 2 Texas Commission on Fire Protection Intermidiate Instructors who provide C.E. requirment training for paid Mineola Personnel as well as instruct at A&M and area schools.
Mineola Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. is a Texas Chartered non-profit corporation and determined to be tax exempt by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501 C (3).
